Obituary	Mrs. Sylvia D. Chandler The death of Mrs. Sylvia G. Chandler took place at her home on Main street Saturday evening after a brief illness from pneumonia. Mrs. Chandler was the daughter of Anthony and Sopbronia (Coffin) Schoppe and was born in Beddington, Me., in 1848, being at the time of her death 62 years and three months of age. For many years she was a resident of Cherryfield, but the latter part of her life was passed here. Her husband, the late Benjamin H. Chandler, died several years ago. Several brothers and sisters survive her. She was a member of the Congregational church and was known as a devoted church worker. The funeral services were held from the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. J. A. Fraser, officiating, assisted by Rev. J. G. Fisher of Ridlonville, a former pastor of the church. At the conclusion of the church service the beautiful and impressive funeral service of Martha Washington lodge, I. 0. 0. F., was conducted by the officers of that lodge, a large delegation of which were in attendance. Many beautiful floral offerings testified to the high esteem in which she was held. The burial was in Mount Pleasant cemetery. The bearers were L. F. Schoff, Nathan Daggett, D. K. Jenkins and Alba French.
