Obituary
Gilman G. Fifield The death of Gilman G. Fifield occurred Sunday at his home on Spring street, where he had been ill several weeks, Mr. Fifield was a well known Dexter resident, and a highly respected and esteemed citizen. Although he has not enjoyed the best health during the past few months, his death was unexpected to his many friends. His age was seventy-nine years, and he leaves a wife, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Fred W. Wight of Rockland, Mrs. A. L. Lyford of this town, Fred Fifield of Oakland and Ralph Fifield, who is located in Montana. The funeral services occurred on Wednesday forenoon, at his late home on Spring street, the Rev. Stanley Gates Spear, pastor of the First Universalist church, officiating. Many mounted floral emblems and a profusion of bouquets and flowers from many friends, attested the respect in which the deceased was held. The bearers were Messrs. A. Lyford, Fred Fifield, F.W. Wight and E. A. Bullard At the tomb, scripture reading and prayer were offered by the Rev. Mr. Spear. The family have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
