Obituary	JOSEPH L. WORDEN DEXTER Joseph L. Worden, 87, died November 17, 2001 at his Gould Avenue residence. He was born May 29, 1914, in Jefferson, Maine, the son of James and Agnes (Luke) Worden. When his father became ill, he left school for a term and took his father's job. He returned to N. H. Fay High School and graduated in 1935. He worked in New Jersey during the Depression until he returned to Dexter to care for his mother. For many years he worked as a machinist at Fay & Scott in Dexter. After retirement, he worked as a night watchman for Dexter Shoe and Guilford of Maine. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter and was a 65-year member of the Knight's of Columbus. He served the community in many ways including: plumbing inspector, Boy Scouts, the volunteer ambulance service, Dexter Fire Department and many summers at Camp Stonehaven, Dexter's Girl Scout Camp. He is survived by two sons James Worden of Sangerville and Michael and his wife Susan Worden of Arlington, VA; three daughters Sharon and her husband Nelson Beaudoin of Turner, Paula and her husband Richard Beaudoin of Milford and Karol Worden of Dexter, six grandchildren, Jamie, Matthew, Eric, Nicole, Danielle and Joseph, special friends; nephew and wife Pete and Muriel Worden, niece and husband Margie and Larry Haskell, and sister-in-law and husband Marie and Robert Gilbert. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-nine years, Priscilla (Mountain) Worden in 1997 and was also predeceased by three brothers Willet, Frederick and Charles and five sisters, Marguerite Hunt, Mildred MacDonald, Helen Downar, Phyllis Cobb and Rose Cote. Friends may call from 3- 7 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A. M. Wednesday, November 21st, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community Health and Counseling Hospice Program, 14 Summer Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426; the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
