Obituary
Charles W. Farrar The death of Charles W. Farrar occurred at his home on Church street Sunday evening about six o'clock, after a short illness. Mr. Farrar was taken sick while on a visit to his son Ernest, in Boston, Mass., and returned home. After arriving home his condition became more serious but it was not considered that his condition was critical until Saturday, when he failed rapidly until the end. Mr. Farrar was a man who was wellknown and highly respected by all who knew him. He was a veteran in the Civil war, having served in the 22nd regiment. He was 73 years of age and is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Charles Damon of Braintree, Mass.; Miss Mattie Farrar of Dexter and Ernest Farrar of Boston; also by two brothers, Andrew Farrar of Waltham, Mass., and Melzar Farrar of Dexter, and a sister, Mrs. C. M. McKechnie of Natick, Mass. For many years he has been engaged in the trucking business here, but for some years past has run a boat livery business in the summer and acted as janitor of the Pleasant street school building, where he was held in high regard by both teachers and pupils. Funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. R. A. Sherman, pastor of the Methodist church. A delegation of members of H. F. Safford post, G. A. R., were present and the burial service of that order was read. A large number of members of Plymouth Lodge, I. 0. 0. F., of which he was a member attended and acted as escort to the cemetery, where the Odd Fellows' burial service of the order was read at the grave.
