Obituary	Mrs. Maria Johnson The death of Maria, wife of H. A. Johnson, occured at her home on Railroad avenue Friday forenoon, after a lingering illness of several years duration, the cause of her death being a heart trouble. Mrs. Johnson was the youngest of 10 children of Abijah and Lydia (Lancaster) Mason and was born at the Mason homestead in Corinna a few miles below this village in April, 1840. After her marriage with Mr. Johnson, aver 50 years ago, she took up her residence in Dexter, residing here the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and until failing health prevented, was an active worker in it. She was a member and a past noble grand of Martha Washington Rebekah lodge. She will be missed by a large circle of friends and neighbors, by whom she was held in high regard. Besides her husband, one son, George F. Johnson of Readfield and one brother, Leonard Mason of Corinna, survive. The funeral services, which were held at her late home Sunday morning, were attended by a number of friends and relatives were conducted by Rev. A. E. Luce of the Methodist church.
