Obituary	The death of Mrs. Prudence Roberts Davis occurred at her home on Spring street, Tuesday afternoon after a long illness from a cancer. Mrs. Davis was 67 years of age and is survived by her husband, C. H. Davis, and one son, E. L. Dinsmore of this town. Mrs. Davis will be sadly missed by her relatives and neighbors, as she was a most genial woman, a kind neighbor and a friend in need. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her absence will be felt at the annual Roberts reunions as she has been the life of the assemblage during the former gatherings. Though her birthplace was Sangerville the greater part of her life has been spent in this town. Funeral services will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. Gerhard Helme of the Advent church, officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant cemetery. The Eastern Gazette 1-18-1912, p.5 Mrs. Prudence Davis passed away at her home on lower Spring street on Tuesday, Jan. 16, after a long and painful illness from cancer. She was born in Sangerville April 3, 1844, and was the 12th of the thirteen children of Amos and Christiana Roberts. She leaves to mourn their loss, a husband, Chas. H. Davis, and one son by a former marriage, E. L. Dinsmore of Dexter; a step-daughter, Miss Belle Dinsmore; also three brothers, Amos B. Roberts of Branford, Conn., Otis 0. of this place, and Simeon R. of Corinna, and a large number of nephews and neices. A host of friends in the community, in the mill where she labored for many years and in the Methodist Episcopal church of which she was a member, also a deep and sincere grief for "Prudie" as many lovingly called her was beloved by all, particularly so by the young people. She was a dear lover of children and the affection bestowed upon her by her children, especially by little Clarence was beautiful to behold. It would seem that our family gatherings will never be as before, so greatly shall we miss her voice. She was a great sufferer for along time, and during her long illness she was tenderly cared for by her step-daughter, Miss Belle Dinsmore, and her neice, Mrs. Lametta Fassett, with other relatives and friends giving loving aid where they could. Funeral services were held from the home, Thursday afternoon, Jan. 18, Rev. Helme officiating. Beautiful music was furnished by Mrs. Anna Young and Mrs. Annie Bowley, both of Corinna. A poem was read by Rev. Mr. Helme by special request of Mrs. Davis. Many floral offerings added their tribute of sweetness and beauty to the scene. The bearers were four of her nephews, Asa Carle and Amos Bishop of Sangerville, Mark Bishop of North Dexter and O. J. Roberts of Silver's Mills. K. E. I.
