Obituary
Miss J. Louise Hatch A large number of friends in Dexter, Garland, Dover-Foxcroft and other nearby towns, will learn with sorrow of the passing away of Miss J. Louise Hatch, Friday morning shortly after midnight, at the Fairfield Sanitarium where she has been a patient for exactly one year. For a period of time, she was a patient at Hebron, and her condition having improved, she was enabled to return home only to be compelled to enter the Fairfield Sanitarium last year, where nurses and superintendent unite in saying that she was patient and brave during her sojourn with them and a splendid example of Christian womanhood. Miss Hatch was born in Dexter, 36 years ago, with the coming February 10, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hatch. She was a graduate of Dexter high school, class of '99, receiving high honors during the entire course of four years and at the time of graduation was given the third rank-that of the Class Prophetess. She was deeply interested in music and at one time was a member of a Young Woman's Glee club. She was a devoted communicant of the First Universalist church, uniting with that denomination in early life, a teacher in the Sunday school and interested in the Young People's societies. She was a teacher in the public schools of Dexter for several years, being a teacher of exceptional ability and won for herself a warm place in the affection of both pupils and parents. She was always thoughtful of the welfare of the young people given into her care, a kindly friend and comrade as well as teacher. A lovable woman, conscientious, loyal, warmhearted, a true friend, she will be sadly missed by many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday forenoon at 10 o'clock from the Universalist church, Rev. S. G. Spear officiating. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Lester Howard of Augusta, a brother, Clarence Hatch of Dexter, an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Springall, residents of Dexter, also other relatives, who have the deep sympathy of many friends in this sorrow.
