Obituary	Sylvanus F. Kneeland Sylvanus F. Kneeland passed away at his home at Silver's Mills, June 26, after a very brief illness of neuralgia of the heart. He was born in Lincoln, Maine, October 31, 1854. For many years he pursued the blacksmith trade in Sherman, Me. He came here with his family about eight years ago. For the past year or two he has worked on the railroad and was taken ill at his work there. Loving hands did all possible to save him but without avail. He leaves a wife, also four children, Mrs. Eva York and Mrs. Alice Bradeen of Dexter and Donald Kneeland and Stella Kneeland of Silver's Mills. He also leaves a brother, Thomas Kneeland, of Toledo, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Potter, of Lincoln and Mrs. Eunice Getchell, of Dexter, also many other relatives and a host of friends both here and in his home town. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Potter, though a very aged couple made the trip from Lincoln Sunday morning in an auto, arriving about 9.30. Funeral services were held at the Union church at 10.30 a. m. Sunday, with Mr. Ramsey taking charge in his usual efficient manner. Rev. R. L. Olds of Dexter spoke comforting words to the assembled company, using as his text, Job, 14-14, If a man die shall he live again? The bearers were C. M. Douglass, Frank Grant, Edgar Jackson and Sidney King. There were many flowers giving silent tokens of loving sympathy, among them being a large wreath and bouquet from the neighbors and bouquets from the following: Mr. and Mrs. John McKinney, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bradeen, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest York, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred McKinney, Mrs. Mamie Hollis, Mrs. Wm. Potter, Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Kneeland, one from the railroadmen and several others. The body was taken to Sherman Monday for burial.
