Obituary
Mrs. Irene Knight Patten The Dexter friends of Mrs. Irene Knight Patten, for many years a resident of Dexter, but for the past few years living with her son, Daniel Patten, in Garland, will regret to learn of her sudden death, after only a brief illness. Funeral services were held in Garland at 9.30 o'clock, Sunday morning, Rev. Stanley Gates Spear, pastor of the Universalist church of Dexter officiating. The interment was made in Elmwood cemetery, Dexter. Mrs. Patten was born in Dexter on the Henry Cobb farm, so-called, her parents being Henry and Sophia Knight. In early life she was married to Thomas Patten, whose death occured several years ago. To them five children were born, of whom four are now living, Clarence Patten, who for many years has resided in the west; Daniel Patten of Garland; Chas. Patten of Bar Harbor and Mrs. Pearl Skillin of Dexter, all of whom have the sympathy of many friends in this, bereavement. Mrs. Patten was interested in the Universalist church of Dexter and her father and mother were members of this denomination. She was ever ready to do kind acts for others and was greatly beloved by all persons having the privilege of her acquaintance.
