Obituary
Mrs. Addie Rollins Nichols The many friends in town and elsewhere of Mrs. Addie Rollins Nichols, wife of M. S. Nichols, were grieved to learn of her death, which took place at her home in the Fisher district last Sunday afternoon, after a long and painful illness. Mrs. Nichols, whose maiden name was Miss Addie Rollins, was born in Garland, Maine, April 8, 1856. For many years, prior to her marriage to Mr. Nichols, she was engaged as a school teacher, and, since her marriage, she has always lived on the Nichols farm in the Fisher district. Here she has made many friends, and has always been among the first to render assistance to anyone who might need it. Mrs. Nichols was a sincere Christian woman and an earnest worker in various departments of Christian work. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Dexter and was very active, as long as her health permitted, in missionary work. She was for many years teacher in the Fisher District Sunday school, and her influence has been felt in many a life. Always cheerful, she spent the last few years of her life as an invalid, and her faith and patience were wonderful. The funeral was held at the Nichols home Wednesday morning. Rev. George C. Sauer and Rev. R. L. Olds officiated. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers. The bearers were: N. R. Packard, C. E. Higgins, E. E. Cole and E. E. Hamm. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery. Besides her husband, Mrs. Nichols leaves a daughter, Miss Luetta E. Nichols; an aged mother, Mrs. Addie Rollins; a sister, Mrs. Minnie A. Davis of Rumford Falls, and a Brother, Ernest Rollins of Garland, besides several nieces and nephews.
