Obituary
Gershom L. Gould Gershom L. Gould, one of Dexter's best known and oldest residents passed away at his home on Main street Sunday, after a long and painful ill- ness. Mr. Gould was born in Charleston, 73 years ago April 21, and has been a resident of Dexter for the past forty years during which period he has always been active in the affairs of the town and desirous of making Dexter bigger and better in every way. He was at one time selectman and for several years a road commissioner. Mr. Gould was a devoted member of the Free Baptist church. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the residence on Main street, Rev. Mr. Trafton officiating. The bearers were Messrs. Walter Gould, Frank Arnold, William E. Brewster and Stanford M. Leighton. The interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery. Mr. Gould is survived by his wife, also a son and daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Fred Blodgett of Dexter and Abel Gould of Providence, R. I., four brothers, Messrs. Albert, and Freeland Gould of Dexter, Daniel and Francis Gould and three sisters, Miss Esther Gould of Charleston, Mrs. Kate Kinney of Cambridge and Mrs. Georgia Williams of Charleston, all of whom have the sympathy of friends in their bereavement.
