Obituary
Mrs. Annie Ross Thatcher Mrs. Annie Ross Thatcher, wife of Dr. H. K. Thatcher, died at her home on Free street, Monday evening, after a long illness, at the age of 61 years. Mrs. Thatcher was born in Bangor, the daughter of the late Capt. Hugh Ross, for many years a prominent citizen. After her mar- riage to Dr. Thatcher, she moved to Cambridge, Maine, where for a short time the doctor practiced. They have for many years resided in Dexter, moving here from Cambridge. Mrs. Thatcher was a woman loved not only by many friends in Dexter and vicinity but also in Bangor, her native city. She was known and loved for her many acts of kindness, her thoughtful-ness for others, especially in sickness or any times of need when she was always ready with a helping hand, as Dexter friends and neighbors can testify. It is with sincere sorrow and deepest grief that the announcement of her death will be received. Besides her husband she leaves a son, Thoreau Thatcher of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. F. V. Strickland of Bangor, and Mrs. Grace Buck of Virginia, a brother, Ralph Ross of California. Mrs. Thatcher was a member of Wassookeag chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and of the Woman's Literary club. She was a regular attendant at the Dexter Congregational church. Funeral services were held at the home this forenoon at 10.30 o'clock.
