ERNEST M. THOMPSON Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for Ernest M. Thompson, 75, who died early Monday morning at his home on Highland avenue after a very brief illness. The Rev. T. A. Webb of the First Universalist Church officiated and interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Bearers were: A. Q. Thompson, a cousin; Marvin Salisbury, Wilbur Packard and Ogden M. Carr. Born in Dexter, Jan. 29, 1876, the son of Jonathan and Hannah Tapley Thompson, he received his education in the local schools. After learning the machinist trade at the Fay & Scott Plant he worked there many years and then entered the Abbott Woolen Mill as a weaver. At the time of the closing of the Dumbarton Mill, he was employed there as a weaver and since then has been retired. He is survived by his two sisters, Miss Daisy Thompson, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Lilla Dearborn, both of Dexter; and a nephew, Thatcher Townsend, of Greensboro, N. C., who came for the service.
