Obituary
Mrs. Mary Hardy Mrs. Mary Hardy, wife of Herbert Hardy of Park street entered into rest after a long wearying illness, Dec. 10. Mrs. Hardy was born in Sangerville, May 30, 1859, the daughter of Loring S. and Amity Holt. Before her marriage she was a successful and popular school teacher. She married Mr. Hardy and went to Sangerville to live, remaining there until about nine years ago when they came back to Dexter to live. Mrs. Hardy was a loyal and valued member of the First Universalist church, always giving it her best service until sickness prevented. As a member of the Rebekah lodge she was most helpful, enjoying the sisterhood, and most efficient as an officer. Of a gentle, modest disposition she won devoted friends, who will sadly miss her genial presence. She is survived by her husband and one brother, Fred Holt, who with their families mourn the loss of a faithful wife and sister. Funeral services were held at the Park street home Sunday afternoon at 1.30, her pastor, Rev. S. G. Spear, officiating. The Rebekah lodge attended in a body and their ritual service was read. Interment was in the family lot in Sangerville. The world is the richer for her having lived in it.
