Obituary
SUDDEN DEATH ON STREET Wm. Hayden of Silver's Mills Died From Heart Failure in His Auto- mobile. William Hayden, a resident of Silver's Mills, passed away suddenly in the business section of Main street on Tuesday morning, after having entered his automobile and made ready for his return home. With a friend he had come to the village to transact business and was apparently enjoying his usual good health. He had just cranked the engine of his car and, apparently the exertion was too much for him and just as he bad seated himself in the car and was about to start off he gave a sudden gasp for breath, and fell over, death occurring immediately. Mr. Hayden in early life was engaged in the work of photographer in Dexter and most successfully conducted this profession until a few years ago, when he retired from active life and bought a house in Silver's Mills. His age was about 70 years, and he was born in Sangerville. He was a man of sterling character and trusted and esteemed by all persons having the privilege of his ac- quaintance. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Sarah Hayden, who will have the sincere sympathy of the community in this sorrow, and also the sympathy of the many members of the Central Maine Woman's Christian Temperance Union, of which organization she is the president. A sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hapgood of Massachusetts, and a brother living in Waltham, Mass., are also left to mourn this loss.
