Obituary
Funeral services for the late Erastus Fish were held at the home Monday afternoon. In Mr. Fish's death, Dexter losses one of its oldest residents. He leaves, besides, his wife, a daughter, Gertrude Fish Sinclair, and three sons, Charles, Arthur and Wilson Fish, all of this town and several grandchildren, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of many friends. The Eastern Gazette 4-30-1914, p.4 The death of Mr. Erastus P. Fish occurred on Friday, April 24, 1914, after a long illness of diabetes. His age was 77 years, 8 months, 20 days. His birthplace was in Parkman, but he has resided in Dexter, Maine, for 75 years. At the age of 28, he married Miss Abbee J. Leeman of Abbot. He was a very kind-hearted man, of an unusually genial disposition. In departing this life, he leaves to mourn their loss a widow, Mrs. Abbie J. Fish; three sons, Mr. A. M. Fish, Mr. C. H. Fish and Mr. W. E. Fish; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Sinclair; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Lydia Morgan of Lynn, Mass., besides a large circle of sorrowful friends. The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, April 27. Rev. Stanley G. Spear officiated. The Eastern Gazette 5-7-1914, p.5
