Obituary
Mrs. May Goodale The remains of a former Dexter oman, Mrs. May Dow Brawn Goodale, were brought to Dexter Saturday and taken to the undertaking rooms of Hutchinson & Gates, Main street, where relatives living in Massachusetts and Maine assembled to pay a final tribute to one who had possessed their warmest affection and highest esteem. Mrs. Goodale was born in Dexter about 55 years ago, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dow. She possessed a large number of friends, all of whom extend their deepest sympathy to the sorrowing relatives. For the past several years Mrs. Goodale had resided in Amesbury, Mass., and her sudden passing away was caused by valvular heart trouble. Mrs. Goodale leaves a brother, James Dow, of Massachusetts, formerly of Dexter, two sisters residing in Foxcroft, Mrs. Thomas Jack, Mrs. W. N. Park, also a sister, Mrs. Eunice Weymouth Smart, of Amesbury, Mass., until within the past few years a Dexter resident. Among those from out of town attending the service in Dexter were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jack of Foxcroft, Miss Park of Dover, Mrs. Eunice Weymouth Smart and daughter of Massachusetts, and others. Prayer was read by the pastor of the Methodist church, Rev. Mr. Sherman, Mrs. Goodale having been for many years a devoted communicant of the Amesbury church and an earnest worker in its behalf. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb, Mount Pleasant cemetery.
