Obituary
Mrs. Hannah L. Thompson Friends will learn with regret of the death of Mrs. Hannah L. Thompson, wife of Jonathan Thompson, which occurred at her home Sunday, August 29, after a lingering illness. She was sixty nine years of age. Mrs. Thompson, who has lived the greater part of her life in this place was well known and had a wide circle of friends to whom the news of her death will be a great shock. She has been in ill health for a number of months but has been incapacitated but a few weeks. She was of an extremely kind disposition and had a friendly word for all, finding something of good in everyone, she made friends easily and retained them always. Besides her husband, who has been unwavering in his care and in his devotion to her during her whole illness, she leaves to mourn her loss, four daughters and two sons and four grandchildren, W. W. Thompson, E. M. Thompson, Mrs. S. L. Dearborn, Mrs. W. E. Babcock, Mrs. C. H. Marsh of this place, and Mrs. C. S. Townsend of Madison. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Wednesday, Rev. Stanley Gates Spear officiating. The 4 sons-in-law acted as bearers. The inter- ment was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful which showed the high esteem in which she was held by all who knew her.
