Obituary
Marguerite A. Phiney Marguerite, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allie Phinney of Lincoln street, passed away Wednesday morning at about seven o'clock, after an illness of about two weeks duration. She was taken sick with scarlet fever and until a few days ago some hope was entertained for her recovery but complications of diseases developed which her slight strength was unable to battle against. She was fourteen year of age, a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and a pupil in the ninth grade. She was a favorite in school and with all whom she came in contact, winning many friends by her sweet disposition. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family, her parents and only brother, Marshall. Prayer service was held at 2 p. m., this afternoon, Rev. S. G. Spear officiating in the absence of their pastor, Rev. Preston Boyd. Friends and relatives gathered on the verandah, where they took their last glimpse of the little girl through the window, where the casket was placed in the front room. Many beautiful floral offerings were sent as tokens of the love and esteem in which she was held. Interment was made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
