Obituary
William H. Snell The death of William H. Snell, for many years one of the leading business men of Dexter, occurred Sunday, after a long illness. Mr. Snell was born about seventy-six years ago in St. Albans, and was the son of William Harrison and Charlotte Noble Snell. In early life he married Mary Harvey, who died several years ago, and to that union two children, a son and daughter, were born, both of whom died while quite young. For over thirty years Mr. Snell, lived in Corinna, where he carried on an extensive milk farm, later selling the business and moving to Dexter, where he entered business and became prominent as a live stock dealer. He has lived fifteen years in this town and has won many friends in this section, who will mourn his death. For many years Mr. Snell was prominent in musical circles being a lover of music and a violinist of exceptional ability and for a long time was leader of Snell's orchestra. He is survived by three nephews, Harry W. Snell, St. Albans; Clinton G. Snell, Pittsfield and Clyde H. Snell, Portland. Funeral services were held at the late home, corner of Water and Mill streets, Tuesday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Stanley G. Spear officiating. The bearers were Harry J. Weymouth, Harry Hutchins, Newton Bowdoin and Manville Russell. Interment was made at Riverside cemetery, Newport.
