Obituary	Melvin Crane The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Crane will learn with regret of the passing away of Mr. Crane after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Crane has been in poor health for several months, but for the past few weeks he had appeared to feel as well as usual and his death came as a great shock to his wife and the friends of the family. Mr. Crane was born in Maine and came to Dexter with his parents when he was three years old, having since resided in this section. In early life he was united in marriage to Miss Isabel Parkman, and to this union one child, a daughter, was born, and whose death occurred a few years ago. Mr. Crane was for many years employed in the Eldridge Brothers' wood-working factory, be- ing in charge of one of the departments. He was a kindly husband and a neighbor who could be depended upon in emergencies and he held the highest esteem of many friends and acquaintances. His age was seventy nine and he leaves a wife, also a grandson, Maurice Parkman, who have the sympathy of the community in this sorrow. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at one o'clock at the Crane home, and the pastor of the Free Baptist church, the Rev. Mr. Trafton, of- ficiated, both Mr. and Mrs. Crane having been deeply interested in the work of this denomination. The interment took place in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Dexter, and the bearers were Servis Puffer, Byron Giles, Samuel Moore and James Ballard.
