Obituary
Mrs. Mary E. Keyes The death of Mrs. Mary E. Keyes occurred Sunday, Feb. 3, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Patterson on Beech street, after a brief illness. Mrs. Keyes suffered a severe shock a week ago and failed steadily until the end came Sunday. She was the widow of the late Jonas C. Keyes of Clinton. The deceased was the daughter of the late Richard and Phoebe Furbush and her childhood home was in Palmyra. For 15 years she conducted a dressmaking establishment in Dexter, where she has lived for the greater part of her life. For the past few years she has lived in St. Albans, coming back to Dexter; only a few weeks ago, to spend the remainder of the winter with her daughter. She is survived by one brother, J. C. Furbush, of Tions, Iowa. She was 79 years of age. Funeral services were held from the Patterson home Wednesday afternoon, at 1 o'clock, Rev. Stanley Gates Spear of the First Universalist church officiating. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb at Mount Pleasant cemetery.
