Obituary
Bernice Ella Widdoes The sudden death or Bernice Widdoes youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Widdoes of this town, which occurred at her home on Church street, last evening, came as a great shock to her friends and acquaintances. She had been in her usual health to all apearances until within a few days of her death. Monday she took a trip to Bangor with the family and was not feeling well at the time. She gradually grew worse and upon arriving home, took her bed, Tuesday morning. A doctor was immediately called, who pronounced the disease acute diabetes. Tuesday afternoon she became unconscious and remained so until the end. A consultation of Bangor and Dexter doctors was held but nothing could be done to save her life. She died shortly before midnight Wednesday night. Miss Widdoes was born in Amsterdam, N. Y., Nov. 21, 1900, her age being 15 years and 7 months. She was a member of the sophomore class of Dexter High school and attended the Methodist Sunday school. She was one of the most popular girls in High School and loved by a large circle of friends, both in school and out, who will sadly miss her. Miss Widdoes was also a member of the Talmatan Campfire, the members of which, deeply feel the loss of a dear friend. She leaves to mourn her loss, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Widdoes, two sisters, Viola and Mildred, and four brothers, James, Ernest, Virgil and Howard. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, from the Methodist Episcopal church. Much sympathy is extended by a host of friends to the bereaved family.
