Obituary
Mrs. Charles Crowell The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crowell, were grieved to learn of her passing away at the Crowell home in this town, death occurring after Mrs. Crowell had been ill for only a comparatively short time, her sickness resulting from cancer of the liver. A few weeks ago, Mrs. Crowell journeyed to Bangor where she expected to undergo a surgical operation and eventually receive medical treatment. It was found by the attending physician to be unadvisable to operate and Mrs. Crowell returned to Corinna. Mrs. Crowell was born in Skowhegan, Aug. 19, 1852, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Parkman. She was interested in the Methodist church of Corinna, but was not a member of that denomination. A kindly, thoughtful woman, well liked by many friends in Corinna and this section, she will be sadly missed by them and by all persons having only the opportunity of mere acquaintance. She leaves a husband, also a brother, Charles Parkman, of Dexter, three sisters, Mrs. Martha Withee of Exeter, Mrs. Josephine Spooner of Dexter, and Mrs. Susan Spooner of Ripley, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of the community in this bereavement. It is expected that memorial services will be held at the Crowell home on Thursday, with the pastor of the Corinna Methodist church, Rev. Mr. House officiating. The interment will take place in the cemetery at Morse’s Corner.
