Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann Warren Mrs. Mary Ann Warren, wife of Joseph H. Warren of this town, died suddenly Tuesday at her home on Maple street from apoplexy after an illness of only a few hours. The sudden death was a great shock to the neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Warren and the family have the deep sympathy of all. The deceased was 71 years of age. She was born in Augusta, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Stinson. Her girlhood was spent in Bangor, where she learned the photogapher's trade, being later employed in Boston. In that city she became a nurse and was employed in that capacity in and around Boston for ten or twelve years. In 1875 she was married to Samuel S. Purdy and resided in New York until his death in 1879. In 1908 the deceased was united in marriage to Joseph H. Warren and has resided in this town for eleven years where she has made many friends who greatly admired her for her sterling worth and keen intellect. She was a member of the local Women’s Relief Corps of which she was treasurer for a number of years. She was also a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston. Besides her husband she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lucy P. Sawyer, of West Roxbury, Mass.
