Obituary
Ralph Sawtelle The remains of Ralph Sawtelle were brought to Dexter Wednesday morning from Watertown, Mass., where he was killed in a automobile accident, and funeral services were held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Ada Sawtelle, Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, Rev. B. F. McIntire of the Universalist church officiating. Mr. Sawtelle was born in Guilford in 1884, the son of the late Mr. and Frank M. Sawtelle, but the greater part of his lifetime was spent in Dexter and this vicinity. For several years he was employed at the Fay & Scott foundary, where he was very popular among his shopmates. For the past few years he has been employed at the Government Arsenal at Watertown, Mass., and it was while driving a motor truck for that concern that he was caught under the wheels and terribly crushed, dying instantly. It is understood that the accident occurred in sight of his own home and was witnessed by his wife and one child. He leaves to mourn his death his mother, Mrs. Sawtelle, his wife, Mrs. Frances Doolan Sawtelle, two sons, Yale and Harland; three brothers, Charles, and Clifford of Dexter and Greenwood of Houlton, and a sister, Mrs. Marion White, of Dexter. The many beautiful flowers arranged about the casket at the funeral services bespoke the high esteem and respect of many friends of the deceased.
