Obituary
William G. Cutler William G. Cutler, who died in Chicago, February 3, was born in Dexter most 85 years ago. He and his father, General Lysander Cutler, who was one of the pioneers in Dexter's woolen industries, will be remembered by many of our older citizens. General Cutler did conspicuous service in our Civil War, and was severely wounded in one of its great battles. The younger Cutler was a school chum of C. W. Curtis, and a life long friendship and correspondence has been kept up between them. Mr. Cutler visited Dexter in 1898 to attend a reunion at the home of Mr. Curtis of a quartet of school chums, pledged to occur earlier, fifty years before while attending school at Waterville. The other two members of the group were Lyman B. Wyman of Ellsworth and Walter D. Eaton, then of Boston. Mr. Curtis is the only survivor of this quartet.
