Obituary
Mrs. Mary Jane Fifield The funeral of Mrs. Mary Jane (Howard) Fifield, widow of Lieut. Edward B. Fifield was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred W. Waite, 22 Clarke street, Lawrence, Mass., on Tuesday afternoon, June 3rd, 1919 after a brief illness of only two weeks. Mrs. Fifield was for the greater part of her life a resident of Dexter Maine, and is well rememberd as an ardent church worker, having been conected with the Dexter residence here. She was born in Ellsworth, Maine November 12th, 1892(1829?) and was married to Edward B. Fifield July 24, 1846 by the Rev. Sewall Tenny after which she took up residence in Dexter. During the past few years she spent the winter months with her daughter in Lawrence Mass., but returned to Dexter every spring. She was a member of the Methodist church, W. C. T. U., and Eastern Star all of this town. To mourn her loss she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Fred W. Waite, three grandchildren Harry Fifield, Gertrude Ada (Flanagan) Waite and Leon C. Waite, also one great grandchild, Elizabeth Evelyn Waite all of Lawrence, Mass. Burial was in the Bellevue cemetry in Lawrence, Mass.
