Obituary
Edna Additon Drew Edna Additon Drew passed away at her home on Pine street Thursday, May 29th. She has been in poor health for some time suffering from a complete nervous breakdown caused by the death of her husband three years ago. Also having two severe attacks of grip cold the past winter from which her frail strength could not fully overcome. Like the flower broken from the supporting branch the petals fall day by day until at last it withers and dies, so went out the life of one, whom none knew but to love. She, was born in Ripley, March 17, 1877, and lived there until her marriage to Henry Drew of this town since then residing here, making many friends who sadly regret parting to meet no more on earth. She leaves a mother, one brother, Phil Additon of Ripley, a sister, Mrs. C. E. Stone of this town and three nieces, Audrey and Dorothea Stone, Ethelyn Additon, besides a large circle of distant relatives to mourn the loss of one very dear to them, ever kind and thoughtful of others. All that tender care and loving hands could do to stay and com- fort her was done but there were greater attractions for her in the other world and she was willing to go to be with the loved and lost. Love's fond ties that once were broken, Left her heart bleeding sore How we trust they'll be united, Over on the other shore. Gone from earth and all its beauties, Just at life's most perfect day; Gone to meet the beloved one yonder, Over where the angels stay. How we'll miss her fond caresses, Now another vacant chair; Yet again we hope to meet her In that world so bright and fair.
