Mrs. Josephine Sturtevant The death of Mrs. Josephine Sturtevant, widow of the late Edward J. Sturtevant of this town, died suddenly Friday at her home on Park street. The death of Mrs. Sturtevant came as a great shock to her many friends in this town and elsewhere. The deceased was one who enjoyed the friendship of an unusually large number of friends who sincerely mourn her passing. The deceased for many years has been identified with the First Universalist church, Martha Washington lodge of Rebekahs and was especially prominent in the work of the Woman's Relief Corps of the G. A. R. She was 75 years of age and besides one daughter, Miss Jennie Sturtevant, is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ella Safford, who resides in the state of Washington. Funeral services were conducted from the First Universalist church at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. B. F. McIntire, pastor of the church, officiating. The service was attended by many neighbors and friends of the deceased and there was a large number of handsome floral offerings. Interment was in the family lot in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
