Obituary
Seth Bessey Seth Bessey died Friday at his late home on Maple street after a long illness. He was the son of the late Anthony and Mercy Dearth Bessey and was born in Sangerville 60 years ago last July, where he spent his boyhood days. In 1881 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Brown of Parkman and went directly to that town to reside until 18 years ago when they moved to Dexter to make their home. Mr. Bessey has lumbered the greater part of his life and is well known in the nothern section of the State. His lumbering operations were carried on extensively through the vicinity of Kingsbury, Willimantic, Onawa Monson and Greenville. Mr. Bessey was a possessed of many fine qualities, always honest, congenial and well liked by his employees. His remarkable disposition and integrity won for him many friends both in business and social life who will deeply mourn his death. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Vina Brawn and Miss Helen Bessey; two sons, Elwood and Maynard Bessey of Dexter; one brother, George Bessey of Guilford, and, one sister, Mrs. Susan Kelley of Lowell, Mass. The community unites in extending sympathy to the bereaved family. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
