Hold Funeral Servicesl For Fred 0. Herrick Funeral services for Fred Orman Herrick, 70, were held Friday afternoon at the First Universalist Church with the Rev. Theodore A Webb, officiating. Mr. Herrick died in his sleep Wednesday afternoon at his Free street home after several years' illness. Bearers were: Frederic Hale, Norman F. Plouff, Lloyd H. Hatch, Jr., and Frederick Mountain. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant, cemetery. Born in Charleston, Dec. 20, 1879, the son of Charles A. and Helen Stockman Herrick, he received his education at Higgins Classical Institute. Coming to Dexter as a young man he learned his trade at the Fay and Scott Machine Shop and worked there several years prior to employment in Holyoke and Springfield, Mass. In 1905 he married Bertha Eldridge of Dexter, who survives. In later years he was associated with her father, the late Samuel Eldridge, in the woodworking business, from which he retired many years ago. He was a member of the First Universalist Church, serving on the board of trustees for several years. He served a number of years on the town finance committee, was associated with the Dexter Loan and Building Association, a former member of the Dexter Club, Penobscot Lodge, A. F. and A. M., and a Shriner. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. David Barker, of Dover-Foxcroft; a son, Samuel Eldridge Herrick, Portland; two grandchildren; a sister, Miss Amelia D. Herrick of East Corinth; and a brother, Eugene W. Herrick of Camden.
