Obituary
Edward Bond Suicide of Edward Bond Edward Bond, in a supposed period of mental derangement, took his own life by shooting Monday at the home of Edward Martin on the Ridge road where he has made his home for several weeks, or since the recent death of his mother, the late Mrs. Caroline Bond, in this town. Having been left alone in the house for a short time, Mr. Bond secured a rifle, which with ammunition had been hidden, and loading the weapon, placed the muzzle in his mouth and in some manner operated the trigger. Death was instanteous, the bullet passing out through the back of his head. He was discovered by members of the family upon their return. The deceased had been practically a lifelong resident of this town where he had, for years been employed in the local woolen mills. He was a good workman and a man who had many friends. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Edward Martin. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bond home at the corner of Free and Center streets.
