Leonard V. Clark The death of Leonard V. Clark occurred at his home in Farmingdale last Friday morning, being due to pernicious anemia after several months' illness. Mr. Clark was a native of Dexter, born March 23, 1870, eldest son of the late Edward W. and Vesta (Staples) Clark. He received his education in the schools of this town and learned the printer's trade in the office of the Dexter Gazette, later being employed in various printing establishments in Central Maine. About nine years ago he purchased a job printing business at Gardiner and has been very successful in the conduct of the business until a few weeks ago, when the printing plant was considerably damaged by a fire which broke out in an adjoining building. He leaves besides a widow, two, brothers, Daniel of Dexter, and Ridgeley C. of Seymour, Conn. Mr. Clark was a member of all the masonic bodies of Augusta including the Past Masters association. He was a member and past commander of the Sons of Veterans post of Gardiner and a member of Bedivere lodge, K. of P. of Dexter. He was of a genial disposition and had a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon and the remains were brought to Dexter Monday evening for burial in the family lot in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Brief services were held at the undertaking rooms of Hutchinson & Gates Co., Tuesday morning.
