Obituary
Charles Mountain Charles Mountain, one of the oldest and most respected French residents of the town, died Friday, May 21, after a long illness from consumption. He was born in Trinn, Canada 54 years age and came to Dexter with his parents when two years of age. Mr. Mountain was a spinner by trade and was employed for many years by the Amos Abbott Co., where he was well liked by fellow workers and foremen under whom he worked. He married Sarah Groleau, a respected young lady of the town who made home very attractive for her large family. He leaves besides his wife, two daughters: Mrs. Jerry Pullyard, Mrs. Edward J. Ronco, and six sons, Lewis, Ora, Freeman, Theodore, Paul and Auburn, and six brothers, John, James, Peter, Joseph, Henry and Edward Mountain. The funeral services were held at St. Ann's church Monday forenoon, Fr. T. C. Maney officiating. The church was nearly filled with friends and relatives of Mr. Mountain and the floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The procession which accompanied the body to the grave was one of the longest ever seen in Dexter. Mr. Mountain was well-known and liked by everyone in this town, where he made his home for practically all his life and in his death the community has lost a fine man and a good citizen.
