Obituary
ALEXANDER BROWN Funeral services for Alexander Brown, 59, were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby funeral home conducted by the Rev. Theodore A. Webb, pastor of the First Universalist Church. Mr. Brown died early Thursday morning June 1, at the local hospital after a sudden illness. Bearers were Harold Getchell, Earl Pomroy, Blaine Williams, and Clarence Bates. Interment was in Pittsfield. Born in Ripley, Dec. 12, 1890, son of James and Emma (Hanson) Brown, he came here from Hartland about 33 years ago and was employed at the Amos Abbott woolen mill. Survivors include his mother with whom he made his home on the North Dexter road; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nichols, Mrs. Ida Abbott, both of Hartland, and Mrs. Louise Cuthbert, Fairfield. A nephew, Stillman Morrison, who made his home for many years with the deceased, also survives.
