Obituary	Funeral services for Perry D. Nelson, 71, one of Maine's oldest harness race drivers, were held Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, Dexter, with the Rev. A. Allan Brough officiating. Bearers were: Millard G. Otto, Clarence N. Pierce, Harold Small, Leon Pearl, Harold Knox, all of Dexter; and Russell Peavey, Bangor. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter. Mr. Nelson died suddenly Friday, May 12, in a lodging house at Gorham, where he was engaged in training his horses for the coming season. His wife, Mrs. Nellie Thomas Nelson, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Higgins, of Bangor were with him. He was born in Tracey Mills, N. B., March, 24, l879. Thirty-one years ago he came to Dexter from Presque Isle and has since owned and operated a large farm here. A veteran driver of more than 40 years on the race track, he has trained and raced horses all over this state, also on many familiar New England tracks.
