Wallace Bugbee FLYWHEEL BURST COSTING LIFE Wallace Bugbee Mortally Injured as Result of Accident While Sawing Wood A most horrible accident occurred yesterday afternoon when Wallace Bugbee sustained injuries which later resulted in his death. Mr. Bugbee was engaged in sawing wood at the farm home of Hanford B. Crouse on the old Ripley road with a wood sawing outfit driven by a tractor. The machine had been shut down during the noon hour and had just been started for the afternoon's work when the flywheel burst and a large fragment struck young Bugbee, who was standing at the machine ready to put on a stick to be sawed. The flying mass of iron almost en- tirely severed the right arm about three inches from the body, leaving it hanging only by shreds of flesh. A physician was hastily summoned by telephone and first aid applied pending his arrival. He was removed to the Plummer Memorial hospital and made as comfortable as possible, but the shock and the loss of blood was such that he lived only until midnight. Mr. Bugbee was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bugbee of this town, who came from Aroostook several years ago. He leaves a wife, a bride of but a few months, who was Miss Doris Littlefield. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alexander Carter, and two brothers, Shirley Bugbee and Glen Bugbee of this town, who have the sympathy of all in this sudden bereavement.
