Obituary	DIED FROM EXPOSURE Fred Moody Found Beneath His Wagon About Six Miles from Town Fred Moody was found lying beneath his wagon partially unconscious Friday morning about 7 o'clock by Frank Davis of West Garland. Mr. Moody's faithful horse had apparently stood still at the point about six miles from Dexter for several hours. It was near West Garland on the road leading to Cassius Oliver's farm. After untangling Mr. Moody from the wheel in which he was caught, Mr. Davis got him into the wagon and started with him for Dexter. He was able to speak when picked up but was evidently in a very serious condition from exposure, his hands being partially frozen. He had evidently fallen from his wagon, become entangled in the wheel and unable to extricate himself, had lain there exposed to the night air until he got into the condition in which Mr. Davis found him. Mr. Davis went by the way of West Garland thinking the road would be better. Mr. Moody passed away when nearly half way to Dexter. He was taken to his home on Gould avenue, where Dr. J. H. Murphy was summoned, who pronounced the death due to exposure and heart failure. Mr. Moody had been selling fish for the past several weeks and left home Thursday morning for one of his regular trips through the country. He was 62 years old and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Moody, and two daughters, Mrs. Annie Wentworth of Dexter and Mrs. Gertrude Marston of North Dexter, besides several brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home, Rev. Mr. Madison of Garland officiating. The family has the sympathy of friends in their sorrow.
