Obituary	Mrs. Eliza F. Marble Mrs. Eliza F. Marble of North Vassalboro passed away Sunday morning after a week's illness of acute bronchitis at the advanced age of eigthy-seven years. She was born in Cherryfield, her maiden name being Willey. Her education was received in that town and with the exception of a few years, spent in travel and in California, she remained there until she became the wife of Samuel F. Marble. Immediately following their marriage they came to Dexter and made their home on the farm now owned by Fred O. Additon and lived there until the buildings were burned, when they purchased the old Tucker place so called and lived there until Mr. Marble's death, which occurred over twenty years ago. Two children were born of this union and for many years the family were prominent in the business and social activities of the town. The son, Fred K., lived in Boston for some years, where he was a skilled jeweler and where he died some years ago, leaving one daughter, Miss Alice F. Marble, now of Fall River, Mass. Alice Parkhurst became the wife of James McDougall now superintendent of the American woolen mill at North Vassalboro and Mrs. Marble went at once to reside with her daughter where her declining years were made to be wonderfully happy, surrounded by everything that made for her comfort and well being. Mrs. Marble was a woman of unusual culture and education, of wide sympathy and understanding, and charitable inclinations. She proved herself always a good friend and neighbor and was much loved by all who knew her. A loyal Universalist and a good Christian woman, she was ever ready to help and serve any good cause. The last seven years spent by Mrs. Marble in Dexter were pleasantly passed in the home of Lafayette B. Waldron and family, where she was a much loved member of the household. It was to this home that Mrs. McDougall and Miss household. It was to this home that Mr. and Mrs. McDougall and Miss Marble came with the remains Wednesday morning and here funeral services were held at 10 o'clock, Rev. B. F. McIntire of the Universalist church conducting the service. The bearers were old time friends of the family, Eugene Swanton, Harry L. Tillson, G. A. Bailey and Daniel Lane. A profusion of beautiful flowers testified to the love of the departed and kind sympathy for the bereaved relatives and friends. The remains were placed in Mt. Pleasant tomb and burial will be in the family lot at the cemetery.
