Obituary	Mrs. Minta G. Page Mrs. Minta G. Page, wife of Fred Page, passed into the higher life, May 23, at the home on the Ripley road. Mrs. Page was born in Sangerville Feb. 24, 1841, the daughter of Rev. William Oaks and Mattie Morgridge. At an early age she was left an orphan and entrusted to such care as interested neighbors or relatives could give. For some years she made her home in Dexter with the late Daniel Plummer, his wife Mirander Plummer being a relative. She accepted and met the trials of an orphan in a way which helped to develop those fine qualities of character, strength, sympathy and patience, love and loyalty which the friends of later years came to recognize so clearly and esteem so highly. She was married to Mr. Page Nov. 24, 1863 and with the exception of a few years spent in Orono and Portland, their married life of almost fifty-nine years, has been passed in Dexter. For many years she suffered from intense physical and nervous pain, but this only served to build up and refine the inner mental and spiritual life, which became the admiration and inspiration of those who have had the precious privilege of her friendship. The later years of her life she was granted the joy of caring, with her own hands for the home she loved so much. For nearly a year she had not seemed quite so strong as usual but her condition was not considered serious until a week before her death. After several days of severe illness the end came peacefully and happily, thoughtful and loving relatives and friends doing what they could for her comfort and help. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 25 from the home, Rev. William H. Gould of Arlington, Mass. a former pastor and long time friend, officiated, assisted by Rev. B. F. McIntire. Floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, The bearers were: Frank Page, Almon Page, Jere Page, Oscar Bryant, B. C. Hopkins and G. E. Swanton.
