Obituary
Mrs. Mary F. Ireland Mrs. Mary F. Ireland, widow of the late Samuel F. Ireland of Dexter, passed away at her home on Main street late Monday evening at the age of 71 years. Her death came as a shock to her friends, many of whom were unaware that she was ill. She had been in her usual health until Sunday evening, when she was suddenly taken ill, gradually sinking until the end came at midnight Monday. Mrs. Ireland had resided in this town for many years and was held in the highest respect and esteem. She was a valued member of the Women’s Literary society of the town and also a regular attendant at the Universalist church. She was a native of Corinna. Surviving are two nephews and one niece, Edward B. Holt of Corinna, Ned Holt of Boston, and Mrs. Gertrude Savage of Somerville, Mass. Funeral services will be held at the home Friday forenoon at 10 o'clock. 2-10-1921, p.8 Funeral services for the late Mrs. Mary F. Ireland were conducted from the home on Main street Friday morning at 10 o'clock, Ref. B. F. McIntire, pastor of the First Universalist church officiating. The services were largely attended and there was a profusion of beautiful flowers from friends and relatives of the deceased. A large delegation of members of the Woman's Literary club, of which the deceased was an old and valued member, attended the services in a body as a mark of respect. During the hour of the service all of the business places in the downtown section was closed, the late husband of the deceased Samuel S. Ireland, having for many years been engaged in the retail dry goods business in this town. The bearers were Messrs. Stanford M.. Leighton, Fred O. Herrick, Watson K.
