Obituary
William Moody Eldridge William M. Eldridge, died at his home on the Dover road, late Friday evening following an illness of several months at the age of 71 years. The deceased has been a resident of this town for many years having in his younger days been engaged in the cattle buying business, commencing at the time the Canadian Pacific railway was built through Maine. He was successful in this business and was a man of some property. For years the deceased has lived the life of recluse on the farm on the State Highway between this town and Dover-Foxcroft. His health has not been of the best for the past few years but it was only a month ago that neighbors discovered him in a helpless condition, living in one room in his farmhouse and helpless from illness. He was practically without food and many other necessities of life. The matter was called to the attention of the town and health authorities who arranged for his care. A change of clothing resulted in the finding of $800 in cash upon his person. The deceased is survived by three brother's, Ranson, Melvin and Richard Eldridge, all of whom reside in Clinton.
