Obituary
Mrs. Edward L. Weymouth The entire community was saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Ellie Weymouth, which occurred at her home in Fisher district Saturday, July 21st. Mrs. Weymouth had been in poor health for several years but her courage and fortitude were ever such that it had been but a few weeks since she had been compelled to give up her household duties. She was born in Corinna, the daughter of John and Ellen Mower, Feb. 17, 1857. Early in life she was united in marriage to Edward L. Weymouth also of Corinna and they have always lived in the home in which her death took place. Many years ago Mrs. Weymouth became communicant of the First Baptist church of Dexter and throughout her life was a faithful and interested member. She was always a most earnest worker in the Sunday school in her district and also in the Mission circle of which she was president for several years. A woman of sterling qualities, true, helpful and friendly, she will be sadly missed by all her neighbors as well as by the family and other relatives. She is survived by her husband and one son, Harold, who lives at home, two daughters, Mrs. A. Lamont Ellms of Ripley, and Mrs. S. Eugene Sampson of Dexter, three sisters, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the home on Tuesday, July 24th, Rev. D. P. Pelley of the M. E. church officiating. The many beautiful flowers showed the love and respect in which she was held by all. The bearers were, Harold P. Weymouth, A. L. Ellms, S. Eugene Sampson and Chester Ellms. Burial was in the family lot in the Higgins' cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family in their great loss.
