Obituary
Frank C. Gee The death of Frank C. Gee, who was a highly respected resident of this town for many years, occurred at midnight Monday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. D. Jacobs, in Pittsfield where he has made his home the past few years. The deceased, who has been gradually failing in health the past year, was born in Dexter, October 8, 1843. When a young man he went to Somerville, Mass., where for several years he held an important position in the freight department of the B. & M. R. R. Later he returned to Dexter where he engaged in farming, still later going to Pittsfield with Mrs. Gee to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Stella Jacobs. Mrs. Gee's death occurred in 1916. Mr. Gee claimed the distinction of being one of the oldest members of the Masonic lodge in this state being a member over 55 years, having been made a mason in Penobscot lodge F. & A. M. on March 4, 1867 and at the time of his death he was an honorary member of that lodge. He was also an honorary member of Bethlehem Chapter 0. E. S., and a member of Pittsfield grange where he served very faithfully as chaplain for several years. The surviving relatives 'are four daughters and a son, Mrs. Flora Katen, Dexter, Mrs. G. D. Jacobs of Pittsfield; W. F. Gee, Dexter; Mrs. Frances Folley, Bradford; Mrs. Daisy Arnold, Dexter; and two grandchildren, Mrs. Edna King of Dexter and Elmer Katen of Dover. The funeral service was held at the First Baptist church this forenoon at 10:30, under the auspices of Penobscot Lodge of Masons. Rev. C. D. Hazelton, pastor of the church officiated.
