Edward R. Witham Edward H. Witham, well-known citizen of this town, died at the Plummer Memorial hospital Monday afternoon following a long period of ill health. Mr. Witham suffered a shock a few months ago and about a week ago was taken from his boarding place to the hospital. Mr. Witham has been a resident of Dexter for many years. For years he was an employee of one of the local mills. He served several terms as collector of taxes. Mr. Witham was greatly interested in Odd Fellowship, being a prominent member of Plymouth Lodge, I. O. O. F., of this town and affiliated societies. For years he always attended the meetings of the grand lodge and several years ago was one of the Maine representatives from Maine to the National Grand lodge. Mr. Witham was also a member of Penobscot lodge, F. and A. M., of this town. He is survived by one brother, Charles H. Witham, a member of the police force in Augusta. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Universalist church, attended by delegations of the Masonic and Odd Fellow bodies of whom he was a member.
