Obituary
MISS MILDRED MITCHELL R. N. The remains of Miss Mildred Mitchell, R. N., a former Dexter resident, were brought here last Saturday and placed in the receiving tomb to await spring burial. Miss Mitchell, 54, died suddenly while on nursing duty in Brooklyn, N. Y., where she has resided for many years. She was the daughter of Elden and Rosetta McClure Mitchell, born in Abbot, Me., July 4, 1896. A graduate of Dexter High School in the class of 1915, she later studied at Wentworth Hospital, Dover, N. H. For a time she worked at Gardiner, and then enlisted during World War I, being stationed at Fort Devens, Mass. After her discharge in 1918, she went to New York State and has followed her profession there for the past 32 years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Tressie Dore of Gardiner, Mass., also a former resident of this town. American Legion services were held at the English Funeral Chapel in Brooklyn, and the Rev. Hall of the Episcopal Church conducted other services there.
