Obituary
Joseph Ganeau This community was sadly shocked on Friday afternoon to learn of the sudden death of Joseph Ganeau, a respected resident of this town for about forty years. Mr. Ganeau had been attending to his duties as usual during the morning and had gone to inspect one of his tenements with a view to making necessary repairs and being sought for was found by a tenant on the floor of one of the unoccupied rooms in an unconscious state. A doctor being quickly summoned pronounced that death had been instantaneous due to heart failure. Mr. Ganeau was 67 years of age and is survived by five brothers, Jerry, Charles, Thomas, Henry, and John Ganeau, all of this town, His only child, Mrs. Mabel also lives here. Many friends attended the funeral Monday morning from St. Anne's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. Timothy C. Maney officiating. The bearers were the five brothers of the deceased, and a brother-in-law, Charles Pomeroy. Arthur Lambort rendered a beautiful solo. There was a profusion of flowers from relatives and friends. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
