Obituary	Fred Tupper William Frederick Tupper, a resident of this town for the past 31 years, died Tuesday night from pneumonia at his home on the Dover road. Mr. Tupper was 66 years and 9 months old, and was born in Avenport, N. S., and resided in Willimantic before coming to this town in the year 1892. He was employed by the Maine Central Railroad on the section crew. His widow, Mrs. Carrie Tupper, survives him. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 o'clock. (also in 3-29-1923, p.5) The people of Dexter were very much saddened to learn of the death of Fred, as he was called by everyone. He was a good, kind, hard-working man, honest in all his dealings and loved by all who knew him, old and young, rich and poor. His was a sunny disposition, a smile for everyone. He was born in Conwallis, N. S. 67 years ago. He married Carrie L. Day, 35 years ago in Dedham, Mass. Little children called to see Fred as he lay sleeping with that happy look on his face. His little family of adopted children will miss their father's care. It will be a long time before he will be forgotten as he had lived in Dexter over 30 years. Much sympathy is felt for his wile and family and may God give her strength to bear her burdens in this great sorrow. His casket was covered with beautiful flowers, tokens of love from neighbors and friends. Mr. Tupper left besides his wife, two daughters, Bertha of North Adams, Mass., Ethel of Bridgeport, Conn., and nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, also three adopted children, Fred, Laura and Blanche Tupper, and two brothers and one sister in Chicago.
