Obituary
Charles P. McCrillis The town was saddened Friday morning by the death of Charles P. McCrillis, for over 50 years one of the leading grocery and grain merchants of Dexter, his death occurring at the home on Pleasant street, where Mr. McCrillis had been ill but a short time. Mr. McCrillis was about 76 years of age and was the son of the, late Pulaski McCrillis. He was widely known for straightforward dealings and sterling integrity. Although he never sought public office be was always interested in town affairs. Mr. McCrillis was recognized as one of Dexter's best citizens and his death causes sorrow to a wide circle of friends. In addition to his widow Mr. McCrillis is survived by a daughter, Miss Genieve McCrillis. Another daughter passed away several years ago. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. B. F. McIntire of the Universalist church officiating, All stores in town were closed from 2 until 3 o'clock out of respect for the deceased. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers. The bearers were Amos Springall, Springall, H. W. Fish and Wm. Brewster.
